Through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG), Virginia Energy has funded a limited-time program to train local professionals and provide free home energy audits to qualifying households.

About the Program
Virginia Energy launched this initiative to help communities lower energy costs while building local expertise.
Everblue was selected to implement the program by recruiting participants, delivering training, and supporting residential audits across:
Greene County
Botetourt County
Madison County
Town of Dumfries
Town of Rocky Mount
Town of Vinton

For Participants: Become a Home Energy Auditor
Turn this opportunity into a new revenue stream
Virginia Energy is sponsoring professional training for local residents and contractors to become certified Energy Auditors.
Selected participants will earn three nationally recognized certifications and gain real-world experience performing residential energy audits in their community.
This program is designed to help you expand your skillset, increase your professional value, and position yourself for future opportunities.
What you will receive:
Building Science Principles (BSP) training
BPI Building Analyst Technician training
BPI Building Analyst Professional training
Hands-on field experience performing real audits
Direct mentorship from experienced trainers
Credentials that strengthen your professional credibility
Availability is limited to five participants per cohort.

Lower Your Energy Bills with a Free Home Energy Audit
Your home may be using more energy than necessary—and that shows up in your monthly utility bills.
Through this Virginia Energy–funded program, eligible homeowners can receive a professional home energy audit at no cost.
An Energy Auditor will evaluate your home and help identify:
Where energy may be escaping
How your home is using energy
Practical opportunities to reduce your monthly bills
Ways to improve comfort year-round
There is no cost for this service.
